The latest on the peaceful religion of Islam: 2/8/11

Foreword:

Nearly everyday you can find in the news of the world where the Muslims (Islamic Religious followers), in the name of their religion or their beliefs based upon their religious teaching, commit crimes against other people from other religions or those within their own religion. The attacks are because of perceived infractions of Islamic law or beliefs and or the individuals attacked had somehow insulted Islam.

In addition, fairly often, there are also news reports about how we as Americans must learn about the Muslins because some group of progressives have the same misguided beliefs as the Muslims (Socialism) and how in the name of “Political Correctness” we must do all we can to be understanding and respectful of their beliefs and their way of life, while at the same time, they (the Progressives and the whoever they are championing this week) continue to disrespect and diminish America. That is bull hockey!

Java, Indonesia a mob of Muslim men using stones, sticks, and machetes to beat members of a minority Muslim sect, leaving three dead. The deaths preceded a separate group’s attack on Christians in western Java Tuesday which left two churches ransacked and burned.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, another Muslim mob became enraged after a Christian man was sentenced to five years in jail for distributing leaflets deemed insulting to Islam. The mob wanted the death penalty. When the sentence was announced, the group stormed the courthouse and torched two nearby Christian churches.

In Texas: From CBSDFW:

Some middle school students’ parents were shocked this week when they found out that two schools in their Mansfield, TX school district will soon be requiring Arabic language and culture courses. It’s a decision those parents say was sprung on them: The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education.

As part of the five-year $1.3 Million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.

Parents at Cross Timbers say they were caught off-guard by the program, and were surprised the district only told them about it in a meeting Monday night between parents and Mansfield ISD Superintendent Bob Morrison.

The DOE has identified Arabic as a ‘language of the future.’ [...] (this your government at work)

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The founder of a Muslim-oriented New York television station was convicted Monday of beheading his wife in 2009 in the studio the couple had opened to counter negative stereotypes of Muslims after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

The Pakistan-born Hassan, 46, had been served with divorce papers a week before his wife’s body was found at the offices of Bridges TV in Orchard Park, his claim was that the killing was justified because he was long abused by and afraid of his wife.

ElBaradei: Israel Has Peace Agreement With Mubarak, Not Egypt: One of the key leaders in Egypt’s anti-government movement is continuing to make waves, suggesting that he could soon go from being an “agent of change” to the country’s next president. But what does that mean for Egypt and her allies?

When asked specifically how a new government potentially including the controversial Muslim Brotherhood would affect Egypt’s relationship with Israel, ElBaradei said that Israelis need to understand it’s “impossible to make peace with a single man.”

Caliphate.

Simply, a caliphate is a form of government. More precisely, it is an Islamic state that draws its authority from, and is based upon, Sharia law. Get used to hearing the word; it is the form of government advocated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

What exactly a caliphate looks like depends on whether you are a Sunni or a Shia Muslim. Sunnis believe a caliphate should be a constitutional republic, whose leaders are elected by Muslims. Shias believe the head of state is divinely chosen via a lineage of religious clerics called Imams. Within Egypt, Sunnis outnumber Shias.

Understanding Egypt: Islamic Socialism and the Left” by M. Zuhdi Jasser

“Many have a hard time understanding where the political left in Europe and the United States have common ground with this theo-political Islamist movement. Socialist ideology promotes an oppression of the individual for the collective needs of society and government. Islamist ideology similarly promotes the oppression of the individual for the ‘common good’ of the Islamic state. Both snuff out individual responsibility for tribal collective control.”
